چکیده

Inductively coupled plasmas (ICP) offer promise as atomization cells for atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS). In this study, an ICP formed part of a modular spectroscopic system for atomic fluorescence, emission, and absorption measurements. Details on the assembly of the complete system are provided. Mlcrowave-excited, thermostated, electrodeless dlscharge lamps were used as prlmary sources for excltlng the atomic fluorescence. A minicomputer provided control of radiofrequency (RF) forward power and site of observation in the plasma, as well as data acquisition and processing. The effects of important variables on the plasma background, the atomic fluorescence signal, and signal-to-noise ratlo were examined. Scattering and matrix effects were also evaluated. The atomic fluorescence powers of detection for Cd, Zn, and Hg were found to be superior to those observed in emlssion when the same experimental facilities were used for the measurements.

Tungsten coil devices in atomic spectrometry: absorption, fluorescence, and emission.

In this work, tungsten coil (W-Coil) devices are used as atomizers for electrothermal atomization atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS), electrothermal atomization laser excited atomic fluorescence spectrometry (ETA-LEAFS), and electrothermal vaporization inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ETV-ICP-AES). For most cases in ETAAS and ETA-LEAFS, limits of detection (LODs) usi...

Selective Separation and Preconcentration of trace Amounts of Gallium in Water and Rice Samples using Cloud Point Extraction and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry

In the present study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for selective extraction of gallium from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Ga (III) with N, N′ -bis (salycilidene)-1, 2-phenylenediamine (salophen) as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 5. After phase separation and dilution of the surfactant-rich pha...

Screening and Optimization of Microextraction of Pb(II) by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Using Response Surface Methodology

Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined with inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was applied for the determination of lead in different environmental water samples. Ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC), chloroform and ethanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent and disperser solvent, respectively. The effective parameters, such...

Evaluation of a quantitative method for trace impurities in arsenous acids by synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry.

Thirteen arsenous acid samples of known origins and refining methods were collected. Each sample was subjected to quantitative analysis of any impurity elements present using synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (SR-XRF) and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The trace elements selected were Sn, Sb and Bi for the reasons that they were considered...
